Why Aptamil Profutura First Infant Milk?

Aptamil Profutura First Infant Milk has a fat composition and structure closer to breastmilk than any other brand

Aptamil Profutura First Infant Milk contains our highest level of LCPS*

These are important for the healthy development of a baby’s eyes, brain and nervous system2,6-8.

*Aptamil Profutura First Infant Milk 0.38/0.35 AA/DHA vs Aptamil First Infant Milk 0.35/0.32; figures expressed as a % of total fatty acids.

†The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 2g of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and a daily intake of 10g linoleic acid (LA)

LCPS in Breastmilk come in two different forms: Phospholipid-bound and Triglyceride-bound

Aptamil Profutura First Infant Milk is the first term formulation to include both.

Aptamil Profutura First Infant Milk is the first term formulations to include both.

The structure of fats in breastmilk consists of a glycerol group with three fatty acids attached, called a triglyceride

In breastmilk, when palmitic acid is in the beta position it has certain benefits for babies, including better fat absorption, easy digestion, softer stools and reduced constipation11-13

This is general guidance on the safe preparation of our powdered formula, but please see the product packaging for further information. Because powdered milks are not sterile, failure to follow the instructions may make babies ill.

Important instructions:

  • Make up each feed as required
  • For hygiene reasons, do not store made up feeds and discard unfinished feeds as soon as possible, always within 2 hours
  • Do not heat in a microwave, as hot spots may occur and cause scalding
  • Never add extra scoops or anything else to a baby’s feed
  • Never leave babies alone during feeding

STEP 1. Wash hands and sterilise all utensils according to manufacturer’s instructions.

STEP 2. Boil 1 litre of fresh water. Leave kettle to cool for 30 minutes and no longer. Measure the required amount of water (refer to feeding guide) into a sterilised bottle. Be careful of scalding. Do not use artificially softened or repeatedly boiled water.

STEP 3. Using the scoop provided, level off the powder with the built in leveller. Do not press/heap the powder.

STEP 4. Add the correct measure of powder to the water. Adding too many or too few scoops can be harmful. Cap the bottle and shake well (for 10 seconds) to dissolve the powder. Remove cap and replace with a sterilised teat.

STEP 5. Cool under running tap. Check temperature of feed. Feed immediately.
