Aptamil Profutura First Infant Milk

Aptamil Profutura First Infant Milk is a nutritionally complete, whey-dominant breast milk substitute, suitable from birth to complement breastfeeding, or for babies who are not being breastfed.

Aptamil Profutura First Infant Milk is made with milk fat. With 34% of palmitic acid in the beta position, the structure provides a better profile of fatty acids, closer to that of breast milk.

Aptamil Profutura First Infant Milk:

  • Contains our highest-ever levels of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids. These are important for the healthy development of a baby’s eyes, brain and nervous system¹`³.
  • The first term formulation to contain both phospholipid-bound and triglyceride-bound long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, again bringing the
    structure closer to breast milk.
  • Contains prebiotic oligosaccharides (GOS/FOS in a 9:1 ratio). These are proven to encourage the growth and activity of friendly bacteria, reducing the risk of allergies in children up to 5 years ⁴.

Demineralised whey (from milk), Lactose (from milk), Skimmed milk, Anhydrous milk fat, Vegetable oils (Rapeseed oil, Sunflower oil, Coconut oil, Single cell oil), Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) (from milk), Whey protein concentrate (from milk), Phospholipid (from egg), Fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS), Calcium carbonate, Fish oil, Potassium chloride, Magnesium chloride, Sodium citrate, Vitamin C, Taurine, Emulsifier (Soy lecithin), Ferrous sulphate, Vitamin E, Zinc sulphate, Uridine 5’-monophosphate sodium salt, Cytidine 5’-monophosphate, Adenosine 5’-monophosphate, Inosine 5’-monophosphate sodium salt, Nicotinamide, Inositol, Guanosine 5’-monophosphate sodium salt, Folic acid, Pantothenic acid, Copper sulphate, Biotin, L-tryptophan, Vitamin A, Vitamin B12, Thiamin, Vitamin D3, Vitamin B6, Manganese sulphate, Potassium iodide, Sodium selenite, Vitamin K1.

This is general guidance on the safe preparation of our powdered formula, but please see the product packaging for further information. Because powdered milks are not sterile, failure to follow the instructions may make babies ill.

Important instructions:

  • Make up each feed as required
  • For hygiene reasons, do not store made up feeds and discard unfinished feeds as soon as possible, always within 2 hours
  • Do not heat in a microwave, as hot spots may occur and cause scalding
  • Never add extra scoops or anything else to a baby’s feed
  • Never leave babies alone during feeding

STEP 1. Wash hands and sterilise all utensils according to manufacturer’s instructions.

STEP 2. Boil 1 litre of fresh water. Leave kettle to cool for 30 minutes and no longer. Measure the required amount of water (refer to feeding guide) into a sterilised bottle. Be careful of scalding. Do not use artificially softened or repeatedly boiled water.

STEP 3. Using the scoop provided, level off the powder with the built in leveller. Do not press/heap the powder.

STEP 4. Add the correct measure of powder to the water. Adding too many or too few scoops can be harmful. Cap the bottle and shake well (for 10 seconds) to dissolve the powder. Remove cap and replace with a sterilised teat.

STEP 5. Cool under a running tap. Check temperature of feed. Feed immediately.

  • Not suitable for intravenous use.
  • Not suitable for cows’ milk allergy or lactose intolerance.
  • Not suitable for vegetarians.
  • Not suitable for infants with a fish or egg allergy.

Q. How does Aptamil Profutura differ from Aptamil with Pronutra+ across the stages?

A. The Aptamil Profutura range of First Infant Milk, Follow On Milk and Growing Up Milk includes milk fat, which provides a fat structure that is closer to breastmilk. The Aptamil Profutura range has the highest levels of LCPs.

Aptamil Profutura First Infant Milk and Follow On Milk also contain a phospholipid ingredient, bringing the fat structure closer to breastmilk.

Q. Are there any differences to the preparation of Aptamil Profutura First Infant Milk?

A. No. The preparation instructions are the same as our other infant formula. Please see the preparation instructions on the pack for specific details.
